The governments of Ethiopia and China signed a bilateral cooperation agreement to jointly undertake a geophysical study in South Western part of Ethiopia. The two countries agreed that the Geological Survey institutes of both countries will jointly undertake the study. The government of China will cover the cost of the project and provide equipment and experts required for the project. The Reporter reported.

Preparations are underway to begin the construction of the 4-lane dual carriageway Modjo-Hawassa highway project, according to the Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA), WIC reported.
Authority Communication Directorate Director told WIC that the 210-km highway project will be implemented in four phases.
The first phase consists of the construction of Modjo-Meki new asphalt road and the second phase includes the construction of asphalt road between Meki-Zeway, he said.
