Addis Ababa Roads Authority announced that it has built the first concrete road of its kind in the country. The Authority’s executive officer Engineer Fekade Haile said that the concrete road is capable of giving service without any repair for up to thirty years.
The concrete road is built on the 300 meters road that stretches from Kaliti square to Hana Mariam which was previously been known for its repeated repair.

Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) is the developer of the project and Chinese Communications Construction Company (CCCC) is the contractor. Construction of the expressway started on 21 April 2010 and finished on April 2014. The expressway will be able to accommodate 15,000 vehicles per day. The new route will help speed up the development of the country and provide job opportunities.

Ethiopia and China have entered into a $72.5m loan deal from the China Import-Export Bank for the expansion of the Addis Ababa International Airport, local media reports said on Monday.
The reports said that the Ethiopian Parliament approved the bill for the loan deal, expected to be paid back in 13 years, through its Budget and Finance Committee for the Airport Project.
