Addis Ababa Tegbareid was one of the three most important and earliest institutes established in 1934E.C. with the objective of producing Technical skilled manpower for the country
The location where the school exists was formerly an office for the Italian Company known as "Gondard Transport Company". Soon after the departure of the Italian company, the institute was formatted as ENAT [Ecole Nationaol dis Arts et des Technique]. It was first helped and directed by Italian Artisans, French, Swedish, and Americans with Ethiopian counterparts.

Mission
Addis Ababa Tegibareid TVET College’s mission is to provide practical training to produce skilled and self-reliant manpower for the aspiring and currently operating micro economic sectors to assist the growth of the national economy by:
- Instigating job creation and economic growth through entrepreneurship development
- Undertaking scientific research for the improvement of the curriculum and the training
- Creating a direct link between small business and industry to allow for an infusion of innovation and practicality in the college’s curriculum.
