The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (Amharic: ህዳሴ ግድብ? Hidāse Gēdīb ), formerly known as the Millennium Dam and sometimes referred to as Hidase Dam, is an under-construction gravity dam on the Blue Nile River in Ethiopia.
The Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCo), which is totally government owned autonomous agency and administered by a Management Board, is the project executing institution for Gibe III Hydroelectric Project.
More projects fail than succeed. 44% of all projects were late, over budget, and/or with less than the required features and functions, 24% of all projects were cancelled prior to completion or delivered and never used.
